There seems to be a misconception about younger adults and their understanding of Alzheimer's. There also seems to be a misconception about their willingness to get involved.

Blondes vs Brunettes For Alzheimer's is a serious undertaking that is spreading across the country. 17 cities so far.

I just finished looking at the Dallas website, check this out
In a close game, the Brunettes took the trophy (29-25), but both teams are proud to have raised over $250,000 this summer for the Greater Dallas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
$250,000 that is some serious dojo.

Next I went over to the Washinton, DC website for Blondes vs Brunettes for Alzheimer's. Excellent website. I was interested in seeing what the participants looked like. No not cosmetically, age wise. Again, impressed, encouraged. Take a look. Here are the blondes, and here are the brunettes.

Last year they raised $106,000. Mighty impressive if you ask me. It appears the blondes won last year for the first time. Brunettes 5 wins, Blondes 1 win so far.

The next game by the way is November 12, 2011, so if you are interested in attending go here. When you buy your tickets you can pick the team you want to support. Blondes? Brunettes? Tell your kids.

Make a day of it. Take the family. Kick-off is at 2:00 pm at the George Washington University Mount Vernon Athletic Complex, 2100 Foxhall Road, NW, Washington, DC.

Here is a list of the participating cities:
