In a wonderful story in the South Bend Tribute, Staff Writer Virginia Ransbottom shares with her readers the story of John and Pauline Abraham on their 60th wedding anniversary. Pauline has had vascular dementia for five years.

This is a story worth reading and the video worth watching. The video is properly named “Endless Love”.

My favorite quote from this video is:

“What is left is the love and the respect and the beauty of having someone that looks at you occasionally, no matter how unable to communicate. Every once in a while, they will look at you and a spark will be there. Their eyes will brighten up and they say, 'That person is someone I love.' ”

John understands Pauline is “still there.”
