How would you answer - what were the firsts signs of dementia in your case?

In this article - Dotty Wasn't Just Old, She Was Living with Dementia - I wrote about how doctors and my mother's friends just keep telling me "she was just getting old".

In the article, I talk about the subtle changes my mother was undergoing before and right after her diagnosis of probable Alzheimer's. Clearly, the subtle changes in behavior are wrapped up in the changes in memory.

Those changes affected her ability to communicate and cope; and, those changes were so subtle that no one noticed a problem. That included me.
